This is the finished pencils I did for a pin-up to be featured in Richard Starking's Elephantmen comic.
It's modeled on a shot used in the Band of Brothers DVD. I wanted to show the Elephantmen with the same grim resignation as they prepare to go into battle once more. They're sporting various injuries as though this is a lull in the fighting. In a tip of the hat to my fascination with the 'Nam, the rhino is wearing a towel around his neck, as the grunts used to do in the jungle.
I also tried for a mix of Moritat's comic versions and the actual animals. It was a week's work and I had a fantastic time doing it.

well done! Starkings says he's in talks for a movie now with Zucker Productions- i thought i was going to have to suggest it myself at comicon this weekend! best of luck to em! :)
